Our Recycling Program

OUR RECYCLING PROGRAM IS NOT OPERATING RIGHT NOW DUE TO COVID-19.

Please bring your unsellable items to the Salvation Army in Downtown Jersey City as part of their Rag Out Program. Please alert them the items are not sellable and for Rag Out only. This way you will save them time and energy by not sorting unsellable items.

Did you know we receive millions of pounds of donations every year? However, not all of your generous donations sell in our store. That’s where our recycling programs kick in.  We keep thousands upon thousands of pounds of unwanted, unsaleable merchandise out of landfills.

When an item has a rip, tear, stain, broken zipper, pulls, yellow collar or is too worn to sell St. Mary’s Thrift Store partners with a textile company that picks up the unusable clothes from the store weekly.  The company then puts them to uses like making home insulation, pillow stuffing, car seat stuffing, and even “new” fabric made from recycled fibers.

GO GREEN!  Donate your quality clothes.
